Muharram processions taken out peacefully in Pratapgarh

ALLAHABAD: Cops on Wednesday foiled all attempts to hold Bhandara by the Raja Bhaiya’s father Uday Pratap Singh at Kunda area under Kunda police station in Pratapgarh district.
To maintain law and order in the area, the police administration had also deployed adequate police forces and even made Raja Bhaiya’s father, Uday Pratap Singh under house arrest at his Bhadri Palace.
Raja Bhaiya’s father had announced to hold `bhandara’ at a local lord Hanuman temple, Seikhpura claiming that it was his royal family’ annual ritual of holding Bhandara but local police and district administration did not allow him for the same.

As Muharram processions were scheduled to be taken out on same route, police on Wednesday did not allow Uday Pratap Singh to come out from his house and made him under house arrest at his Bhadri Palace.
IG, Allahabad zone, Dr KS Pratap Kumar told TOI “ Muharram processions were taken out peacefully”. He further added police had foiled all attempts to hold 'bhandara' and deployed adequate police force to maintain law and order.
