Bilston Operatic Company return to Wolverhampton Grand Theatre this November with OUR HOUSE following the huge success of last year's production of Hairspray. The musical, featuring the music of Madness, opens on Tuesday 15 November.

OUR HOUSE combines a witty and brilliantly-crafted romantic tale with the energetic and often madcap songs of Madness. It follows Joe Casey who, on the night of his sixteenth birthday, takes Sarah, the girl of his dreams, out on their first date. In an effort to impress her with bravado, he breaks into a building site overlooking his home on Casey Street, which is owned by Mister Pressman, a high-end property developer. The police turn up, at which point Joe's life splits into two: the Good Joe, who stays to help, and Bad Joe, who flees.

The original production of OUR HOUSE won the Olivier Award For Best New Musical in 2003. It ran for 10 months at the Cambridge Theatre. The show features the songs It Must Be Love, Baggy Trousers, Night Boat To Cairo, House Of Fun, Driving In My Car and of course - Our House.

This production by Bilston Operatic Company is directed and choreographed by Laura Canadine.

Ben Evans from Lower Penn plays Joe Casey and is currently studying at Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA). Abi Strudwicke from Codsall Wood will play Sarah - she is currently Head Girl at Thomas Telford School.

Mike James plays Joe's Dad, Sue Towler is Joe's mum Kath Casey. Tom Withers is Lewis and Matt Coombes plays Emmo. JorDan Barrett is Billie and Katie Harrison plays Angie. Jacob Kholi plays Reecey and Al Smith plays Mr Pressman.

The company is completed by a talented cast of local performers.

Bilston Operatic Company, established in 1927, performed annually at The Theatre Royal in Bilston for 30 years before moving to the Grand Theatre where they have performed ever since. Productions in recent years have included Hairspray (2015), Peter Pan (2014), Annie (2013), Hello Dolly (2012) and A Christmas Carol (2011). The society also has a youth company for younger members.
