Police arrested two criminals, seized two country-made pistols
PUNE: The Hinjewadi police arrested two criminals on the police records and seized two country-made pistols, five cartridges and a sharp weapon from them.
The duo has been identified as Vitthal Mahadev Shelar (27) a resident of Botarwadi, Mulshi taluka and Prakash alias Pappu Arun Gaikwad (30) a resident of Bahuli village in Havel taluka. The Hinjewadi police team led by senior inspector Arun Waykar has made the arrest.

The police said that police constables attached to the Hinjewadi police station Sachin Ugale and Vivek Gaikwad has received a tip-off that two men will be coming near the Gram Panchayat office in Maan and they were possessing firearms. "We laid a trap near the Gram Panchayat office and took them into custody," Waykar said.
During the frisking the police found two country-made pistols, five cartridges and a sharp knife with them. The police have registered an offence under relevant sections of the Indian Arms Act against the duo.
The investigating team comprised police inspectors Ranganath Unde, Vishwajeet Khule, sub-inspector Amol Dhas, police constables Anand Khomane, Ashish Botake, Atiq Shaikh, Jitendra Shikhare and Ajay Phalle.
It may be noted in the last the Pune police have arrested five men and seized three country-made fire arms from them.
