The family of a man who fell to his death climbing Ben Nevis have paid tribute to him.

Fraser Campbell, 52, fell from the north face of the UK's tallest mountain at 6pm on Friday.

Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team were called to help Mr Campbell, who lived in Clackmannanshire, but he died before they arrived in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The team called it one of the most difficult operations they had ever been involved in.

In a joint statement released on Wednesday, Mr Campbell's fiance, Julie, and his wider family said: "Fraser was born in Glasgow, but lived most of his life on the north east coast of England, before moving back to Scotland with his family in June of this year.

"Fraser was my fiance, my best friend and a wonderful Daddy to our little girl. He was kind and had a bubbly personality.

"He radiated enthusiasm and positivity in everything he did, but especially for his two great passions; his family and climbing.

"He was dearly loved and he will be sorely missed by all his family and friends."
