While the 1,000-pages charge sheet has been filed by the Powai police in the Hiranandani kidney racket case, it could spell the death knell for careers of several doctors. Sunder Singh, the 23-year-oldm, who blew the lid on the entire scandal, reveals what he was asked during the probe by the government panel.

“I was called to the Arogya Bhavan and was interrogated about the transplant. I revealed the names of the three doctors Mukesh Shete, Mukesh Shah, and Prakash Shetty,” said Singh who had gone underground. Police had also arrested the hospital CEO Sujeet Chatterjee, and medical director Anurag Naik in the case, who are now out on bail.

Singh, who is from Uttar Pradesh maintains that the doctors are at fault for telling him that a kidney grows back the way blood is replenished. “I answered everything that I was asked. I was questioned about who I met, the doctors I interacted with, and when my operation happened,” Singh added. The DHS report that included Singh's testimony implicates the doctors saying that they “acted on their personal benefits or for the hospital's benefit.” On July 13 this year, Singh tipped the police leading to a raid at the hospital when a transplant was in progress.
