Shraddha Srinath's short film makes it New York
Last year, Bengalurean Arjun Kamath's photo series 'Coming Out' caught the attention of many. It captured the love story of two girls, Mytreyi and Alpana, and the problems they faced. Now, a short that he has made with the photo series, for which he has used original music and voiceover, will be screened at the New York LGBT Film Festival. 'I'm humbled to learn that Coming Out was hand-picked to open the Girls Shorts section at the festival.
Speaking on behalf of my team, I can say we've made an important, honest and relevant film that will leave festival audiences changed for good,' says Arjun.
About what this photo series and short mean to him, he says, 'Love has no gender and one must be able to love and live freely, be it man or woman. And to never judge and criticize a person based on whom they choose to love. Love must be celebrated and no boundaries must be drawn.' The film stars Shraddha Srinath of U-Turn fame.
