Clothes crims strike Camilla Franks’ Bondi store yet again

Jack HoughtonThe Daily Telegraph

THE Bondi business of kaftan designer Camilla Franks has been robbed yet again — the third time in four years.

Three men robbed the luxury clothing store early today and ran off with a collection of high-end women’s clothing.

The masked men brazenly smashed their way into Camilla at Bondi about 2.50am before “stealing property” and driving away “at high speed”, according to police.

Police confirmed women’s clothing was stolen.

Camilla, owned by Australian designer Camilla Franks, sells kaftans which retail up to $700 each.

Her styles are worn by A-listers including Beyoncé Knowles and Oprah Winfrey.

They also stock bikinis worth more than $400 and sell “Premium Organic Dawn Dew” tea for $36 a box.

The criminals were dressed far more conservatively, sporting “dark clothing” with “concealed faces”.

Camilla has been targeted several times before and in 2012 Mrs Franks was forced to hire security guards after she lost $240,000 of stock to a spate of robberies.

Police from Eastern Suburbs Local Area Command attended the scene and conducted an extensive search of the area; however no one was located.

A crime scene was set up for analysis by specialist forensic officers.
