Boogie knows Chuck Berry, not McCartney

Demarcus Cousins #12 of the United States (L) reacts during the Men's Gold medal game against Serbia on Day 16 of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games at Carioca Arena 1 on August 21, 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

DeMarcus Cousins told reporters that he has no idea who Paul McCartney is on Tuesday, and everyone freaked out.

How does 26-year-old Cousins not know who McCartney is? How has anyone not heard that name before? Doesn't he know who The Beatles are? This is a travesty!

When I first read that tweet on Tuesday night, I thought it was the funniest thing - whether he was kidding or not. If only he had responded with, "Wait, is Paul the guy in that one music video with Kanye and Rihanna?" That would've been perfect.

Cousins still had a pretty great reply, though. He shared it on Twitter the day after the sports Internet's minor meltdown.

Chuck Berry established his career before The Beatles, and Berry's publisher once sued McCartney over the song Come Together. I have a feeling Boogie knows exactly who McCartney is. He just loves having fun with the media.
