Ramlila enactments draw huge gatherings

HARIDWAR: Huge gatherings were witnessed at various Ramlila enactments in the city, particularly those at the Shri Ramlila Committee, Ram Nagar, Kankhal, Jwalapur and BHEL.

Huge gatherings were witnessed at various Ramlila enactments in the city, particularly those at the Shri Ramlila Committee, Ram Nagar, Kankhal, Jwalapur and BHEL.

At the Kankhal Ramlila, Circle Officer (Traffic) Prakash Chand Devli, urged devotees to adhere to the traffic rules, citing many incidents which had proved fatal due to disobeying of norms.

Devli said, “Lord Rama maintained high standards of ethics and morality in every sphere of life, which we should imbibe. Only then the true purpose of watching Ramlila will be achieved.” At Shri Ramlila Committee pandal, enactment of installation of Shivalingam at Rameshwaram prior to the construction of Ram Setu was done.

Committee general secretary Krishna Moorti Bhatt and chief coordinator Maharaj Krishan Seth shed light on the importance of Shivalingam at Rameshwaram as Lord Rama went ahead to attack King Ravana in Lanka after offering obeisance to Shivlingam.

Episodes of Lord Hanuman-Ravan conversation, killing of Kumbhkaran, Meghnath and Ravana drew huge applauses from the audience.
