UDHAMPUR, Oct 11: One person was killed, while 19 others received injuries, when the mini-bus they were traveling in, skidded off the road and plunged into gorge near village Pathi, in Panchari area.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK02N-0447, was on its way from Mansar to Mongri Panchari, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into gorge near Pathi. According to the locals, the persons travelling in the mini-bus were baratis.
After getting information, police team and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. All the injured persons were evacuated and shifted to District Hospital in police and other vehicles.
The body of the deceased identified as 32-year-old Vinod (driver), son of Saroj Kumar of Himbra, Krimchi was also retrieved from the gorge and handed over to family members after completing legal and medical formalities.
The injured have been identified as Sanjay Singh (35), son of Sher Singh of Berote, Kuldev Singh (30), son of Chuni Lal of Berote, Khemraj (29), son of Isher dass of Ladda, Kuldeep Singh (29), son of Rumal Singh of Sehri, District Reasi, Yashvir Singh (15), son of Rattan Singh of Khor Gali, Mohan Singh (29), son of Tej Ram of Sujan Dhar, Lehar Singh (38), son of Muno Ram of Berote, Rinku Singh (48), son of Puran Singh of Laliya, Puran Singh (48), son of Trilok Singh of Berote, Vinod Singh (15), son of Jimble Singh of Berote, Arjun Singh (35), son of Om Lal of Mongri, Jasher Singh (23), son of Suram Singh of Berote, Kuldeep Singh (39), son of Ramel Singh of Berote, Sukhdev Singh (16), son of Lehar Singh of Berote, Barinder singh (16), son of Prakash Singh of Berote, Vikram Singh (16), son of Sher Singh of Berote, Satvir Singh (13), son of Arjun Singh of Berote, Amit Singh (32), son of Kuldeep Singh of Berote, Balbir Singh (18), son of Dileep Singh of Laliya.
A case in this regard has been registered at concerned police station and investigation started.
