Jammu, October 11
What people of Jammu an Kashmir suffer today on both sides of the divide, roots of that could be traced back to the naked Pakistani-sponsored tribal aggression against the state of Jammu and Kashmir which started on October 22, 1947.
This was stated by Shabir Choudhry, president of the Kashmir National Party, in a press communiqué issued here today.
“If Pakistan had honoured its written agreement with the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir and had not attacked J&K with the intention of capturing it, we would have been an independent state; hence all of our problems since that unprovoked aggression are due to that imperialist attack,” the press release read.
The Kashmir National Party (KNP) will hold a “black day” demonstration outside the Pakistani High Commission in London on October 23.
The KNP has urged all Kashmiris, Pakistanis, Indians and others who believe in violence, hatred and extremism to oppose those forces that promote extremism, terrorism and religious intolerance.
Choudhry said all those who believe in peace, freedom of expression, tolerance and equality should come and support the cause and added that the KNP believed disputes must be resolved through the process of dialogue and not violence.
