T.I. has a new acting gig. The rapper is set to join the cast of VH1's The Breaks.
According to Billboard, Tip will play a high-power lawyer named Paul Anders. The Breaks is a continuation of the VH1 movie of the same name. It tracks the early years of hip-hop, based on the book The Big Payback: The History of the Business of Hip-Hop.
The Breaks movie debuted on VH1 in January and the network has ordered a full season. It is set to premiere early next year.
For T.I., this is the latest in a string of acting gigs. Usually credited as "Tip 'T.I.' Harris," he began his acting career in 2006 in ATL, but it really took off in 2012 with a recurring role on the Starz series Boss. In recent years, he has appeared in several episodes of House of Lies and Single Ladies, as well as in the movies Get Hard and Ant-Man.
