Kristen Stewart Prefers Dating Girls Over Robert Pattinson? ‘I’m Not Ashamed’

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson split up years ago, but fans — especially the Twihards — still want to see them get back together. The two fell in love on the set of The Twilight Saga, where they starred as on-screen lovers Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. Unfortunately, their real-life love story ended when the 26-year-old actress had an affair with her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders.

Despite the cheating scandal, the 30-year-old actor gave her another chance, but things didn’t work out between them. Pattinson has finally moved on and is now engaged to FKA Twigs, yet fans still wanted to see him reunite with Stewart. However, there is a slim chance that the former lovers will rekindle their romance because it seems that she prefers dating girls now.

During a recent interview with Elle, the 26-year-old actress described her relationship with her girlfriend, Alicia Cargile.

“I’m not ashamed and I’m not confused,” she admitted. “Things have changed. And not just with me — we’re really allowed to encourage this new acceptance and be awesome.”

It took almost a year before Kristen admitted her romance with Cargile, and she explained why it took her that long. A few months ago, the star of Equals revealed to Elle UK that she is in love with her girlfriend. She admitted that they broke up a couple of times before they got back together, and this time, she knew it was real. The former child star also compared what it was like dating a woman to a man since she’s been involved with both genders.

“When I was dating a guy I was hiding everything that I did because everything personal felt like it was immediately trivialized, so I didn’t like it,” Stewart explained. “But then it changed when I started dating a girl. I was like, ‘Actually, to hide this provides the implication that I’m not down with it or I’m ashamed of it, so I had to alter how I approached being in public. It opened my life up and I’m so much happier.'”

It seems that Kristen Stewart had a bad experience dating Robert Pattinson, which is why she doesn’t want to relive those moments again. During an interview with New York Times’ T Magazine, the controversial actress appeared to diss her relationship with her ex-boyfriend in her statement.

“People wanted me and Rob to be together so badly that our relationship was made into a product. It wasn’t real life anymore. And that was gross to me,” Kristen said. “It’s not that I want to hide who I am or hide anything I’m doing in my life. It’s that I don’t want to become a part of a story for entertainment value.”

According to Hollywood Life, Pattinson was not shocked when he heard Stewart’s comments about their relationship, but he was deeply wounded by what she said. The British heartthrob allegedly doesn’t know why she is going out of her way to hurt him.

“They have both moved on, so there is no reason to disrespect what they had in the past,” an insider said. “He knows she probably didn’t mean to come off as harsh, but it still isn’t fun.”

A source close to the actress explained to Hollywood Life that Kristen Stewart had no intention of hurting or disrespecting Robert Pattinson when she called their relationship gross. She got candid because she wanted to prove to Alicia Cargile how much she loves her. Ever since the award-winning actress admitted that she’s dating her former assistant, she has become more open about her relationship, unlike when she was still with Rob.

“Kristen feels like she has a new sense of freedom since going public about her love life with Alicia and doesn’t feel the need to hold back like she did in the past,” the source explained.
