In a major relief for Delhites, the city may soon go dhalao (large three-walled concrete structures used for garbage collection) free. South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) will accomplishe this mammoth task with the help of Fixed Compactor Transfer Stations’ (FCTS), a garbage compressing system that will facilitate transport of garbage to sanitary landfill sites (SLFs). SDMC will begin with its Central Zone and then cover most of the remaining South Delhi.
