BittWare announced at the October meet-up of the NMI FPGA Network the first customer shipments of two new PCIe boards based on Xilinx's 16nm Virtex UltraScale+ FPGAs. The XUPP3R is a 3/4-length PCIe board that supports PCIe Gen4 x8 or Gen3 x16 and offers four front panel QSFP28 cages, each supporting 4 lanes of up to 25 Gbps with support for 10/25/40/100 GbE.

Four DIMM sockets support massive memory configurations including up to 256 Gb of memory across four 72-bit wide banks. Alternatively, each of those DIMM sockets can be populated with BittWare's dual bank QDR DIMMs, each providing 576 Mb of QDR-II+. An optional Hybrid Memory Cube (HMC) module with 2 GB can be populated in addition to the DIMMs.

The XUPPL4 is a low-profile PCIe board that supports PCIe Gen4 x8 or Gen3 x16 and offers two front panel QSFP28 cages each supporting 10/25/40/100 GbE. Precision clocking and timing options, along with dual 72 bit wide banks of on-board DDR4 memory (up to 32 GB total), round out the board's feature set.

"BittWare is pleased to once again be driving the leading edge of FPGA technology with the addition of these UltraScale+ based boards," said Ron Huizen, VP of Systems and Solutions at BittWare.

"Our customers are looking for ultra-high bandwidth plus performance, and we're confident that the XUPP3S and XUPPL4 will be compelling options for a wide range of data center and networking applications, including compute acceleration, network processing, cybersecurity, and storage."

"Virtex UltraScale+ FPGAs are the biggest, fastest, and most capable programmable devices in the world," said Mike Wissolik, Sr. Product Line Manager for High-end FPGAs at Xilinx. "We are very pleased to see Virtex UltraScale+ FPGA-based boards added to BittWare's already strong product offering. BittWare products showcase the state-of-the-art features in our devices, and we're delighted to be their silicon partner on these advanced systems."

The XUPP3R and XUPPL4 are the first boards to ship in BittWare's new family of boards featuring the UltraScale+ FPGA devices. The Xilinx UltraScale+ FPGAs are built on 16 nm process technology that actually extends Moore's law by using 16FF+ FinFET 3D transistors to offer higher performance per watt than previous generations. The boards deliver ultra-high bandwidth and performance for systems demanding processing of massive data flows.

BittWare's XUPP3R and XUPPL4 boards are shipping now. Contact BittWare for configurations, pricing, and details.
