Happy Birthday Amitabh Bachchan: Karan Johar to RGV, B-Town showers Big B with wishes on Twitter

Amitabh Bachchan, the grand old patriarch of Hindi cinema turned 74 today (October 11). Over the years, the four-time National Award-winning actor has worked with a large number of filmmakers, from directors as diverse as Prakash Mehra and Hrishikesh Mukherjee to Karan Johar and Ram Gopal Varma. Once age caught up with him, the actor switched to character roles, and since then, he has delivered one milestone performance after another, the latest being 2016's Pink.

Bollywood celebrities began wishing Big B from right after the clock struck 12am on October 11. One of the first to wish Amitabh Bachchan was Karan Johar who has worked with senior Bachchan in 2003's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... and 2006's Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.

But Ram Gopal Varma easily takes the cake. The Satya director is well acquainted with the Piku actor as both have worked together in several films including Sarkar, Sarkar Raj, Department, Nishabd and Aag. The madcap director chose to celebrate because the planets 'conspired' to give Sri Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan's 'joint venture' on this day.
