NAGPUR: “Knowledge is power, but to apply that knowledge for practical purpose is more important,” said Union minister for transport and highways Nitin Gadkari here on Monday. Gadkari was speaking at the Anjuman College of Engineering and Technology’s state-level model and poster-making competition ‘Edutech 2K16 Reloaded’.
Addressing the students, he said, “Today, there is a need for innovation and entrepreneurship in various fields and it can only be achieved if the youth decides to make an effort.
In this context, youngsters should not wait for jobs but create jobs.”
“There should be coordination, communication and cooperation between universities, educational institutions and industries. Wealth can also be made of waste products but in doing so we should not forget to conserve our environment,” he said. tnn
State education commissioner Dheeraj Kumar,, joint director of directorate of technical education Nagpur, Gulabrao Thakre, inspector general of police and adviser to CM of Nagaland, Sandeep Tamgadge, deputy director of education, Nagpur, Anil Pardhi and administrator, Hami-e-Islam AA Ginawala, shared the dais.
Welcoming the guests, principal of the college Sajid Anwar said, “The flourishing Anjuman College that we are looking at today has become a reality due to the efforts of Nitin Gadkari. He was instrumental in granting permission to open the college.”
