VASCO:Congress leader Sankalp Amonkar joined around 200 people from Baina for a morcha at the Vasco mamlatdar office, alleging partiality in preparing the voters list of Mormugao constituency. The crowd’s intention was to gherao joint mamlatdar Vimod Dalal, but as he was not in office, protesters met Mormugao mamlatdar Satish Prabhu and deputy collector Gourish Sankhwalkar.
The protesters alleged that Dalal is helping power minister and Mormugao MLA, Milind Naik, in preparing a biased voters list by excluding names of residents of Baina, whose houses were demolished by BJP-government, fearing defeat in the upcoming assembly elections.
Protesters have demanded immediate removal of Dalal as joint-mamlatdar of Mormugao constituency. Sankhwalkar assured them that no injustice will be done and asked them to submit their documents before October 14.
