Louise Roe’s Wedding Gown Was ‘the Most Complicated’ the Designer Ever Made

When style expert and TV host Louise Roe met with Pronovias designer Hervé Moreau in Barcelona to brainstorm the first sketches of her couture wedding gown, she was sure she knew exactly what she wanted. But she walked out of that first meeting with something completely different.

“I was so specific. Then Hervé looked at me and went, ‘No,'” the 34-year-old newlywed told PeopleStyle at Pronovias’ Spring 2017 Fashion Show in New York City this weekend, her first public appearance since tying the knot to director Mackenzie Hunkin. “I was like, ‘But I am in fashion! I know what suits my body,'” she added. “He said, ‘No, try this,’ and it was perfect. He knew me better than I did.”

The star’s best advice for brides ready to buy the dress of their dreams? Don’t freak out if it doesn’t look fabulous at the first fitting. Roe even admitted herself that she wasn’t completely head-over-heels in love with her gown until every detail was put in place.

“I’m gonna be really honest, I got worried [when I tried it on at first]. And then someone said to me, ‘No, no. That’s normal bride behavior,'” Roe said. “‘Wait until they’ve done the final nips and tucks.’ It’s the tweaks that make [a] huge amount of difference.”
