Suman Billa, Joint Secretary of the Union Tourism Department, reviewed the progress of various projects under the tourism mega circuit, being carried out at Koti Colony near New Tehri in Tehri Garhwal district here today.
He inspected the works of adventure sports academy, tourism huts, hostel, floating huts etc amounting to Rs 50 crore that have been funded by the Union Government.
He said the Union Government was committed to assisting the state in developing and promoting tourism activities. Billa said the Centre would be granting funds worth Rs 81 crore to construct linking roads for four villages around the Tehri lake. He met Tehri DM Indudhar Baudai and discussed the under-construction parking project at Chamba and a parking facility at New Tehri, Eco park at Rani Chauri and construction of six roads linking Khand, Sandna, Raula Kot and Uppu Sirain. —TNS
