Traffic diversions, security in place for festive season

DEHRADUN: Security measures have been stepped-up in the city in view of the festive season.

Security measures have been stepped-up in the city in view of the festive season.

The city police will deploy additional police force at the busy markets and sensitive places to avoid any untoward incident during the festivities. Additional traffic police personnel would be deployed at inter-crossings and on arterial roads to avoid jams. The city police would divert traffic near Parade Ground for Dasehra celebrations tomorrow.

Vehicles parked at places other than designated spots would either be towed away or challaned.

Police personnel would be deployed at Paltan Bazaar, Karanpur Bazaar, Tibetan Market, Indira Market, Dakra Bazaar, Dharampur Bazaar, Araghar, Patel Nagar, Subzi Mandi, Jakhan, Mokhampur Bazaar, Clement Town and Subhash Nagar to maintain law and order.

Policemen in mufti would be deployed to keep an eye on anti-social individuals in the markets of the city.

SSP Sadanand Datte said SPs and SHOs had been instructed to remain vigilant to avoid any untoward incident during the festive season. Strict action would be taken against law breakers. The city was completely under the scan of the police and intelligence agencies, and suspected individuals would be arrested, he added.
