Doon BJP councillors protest poor garbage collection

DEHRADUN: BJP councillors held a demonstration at the Dehradun Municipal Corporation (DMC) office today against the poor door-to-door garbage collection system in the city.

BJP councillors held a demonstration at the Dehradun Municipal Corporation (DMC) office today against the poor door-to-door garbage collection system in the city.

The protesters demanded that the DMC should deploy more sanitation workers to collect garbage from various colonies.

The BJP councillors also gheraoed City Commissioner Nitin Bhadoriya during the protest.

The DMC should work to collect and dispose of garbage effectively.

People were unable to commute as garbage was strewn on the roads in different colonies in the city, they lamented. The protesters demanded that the DMC should do intense fogging in different areas of the city in order to curb the dengue menace.

Amita Singh, Bhupinder Kaithat, Satish Kashyap, Sharda Gupta, Tripta Jatav, Nandini Sharma, Mahipal Dhiman, Savita Oberai, Rakesh and Rajendra Rawat took part in the protest.
