The families of two Cork men killed in a car crash in Canada say they are devastated.

Cathal Murphy from Bandon and Raymond McCann from Kanturk, died in the incident in Melita, Manitoba on Saturday.

Media outlets in Canada say the pair were in a vehicle which was found rolled over at 10.30am.

Police in Canada say the men, aged 33 and 42, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance to both families.

This evening both families have issued statements.

They have expressed thanks for the support they have received, and asked for privacy.
