It looks like Daniel Craig will live to “Die Another Day” as James Bond.
After giving the middle “Goldfinger” to the franchise and insisting he would rather kill himself than make another Bond movie, Craig has had a change of heart.
In an interview about his life and career at the New Yorker Festival over the weekend, Craig suggested that playing the iconic secret agent a couple more times may not be such a bad gig, after all.
“As far as I’m concerned, I’ve got the best job in the world. I’ll keep doing it as long as I still get a kick out of it. If I were to stop doing it, I would miss it terribly,” Craig said.
Craig’s future as 007 looked to be uncertain after comments he made during a press tour promoting “Spectre” last year.
Craig was asked in one interview if he cared who took on the role next, to which he replied, “Look, I don’t give a f—. Good luck to them.” He also said he would “rather break this glass and slash my wrists” than sip another martini shaken, not stirred.
The producers of the franchise recently made it clear that Craig is still their first choice for the role, which comes as no surprise, given Craig’s last two Bond outings, “Skyfall” and “Spectre,” were the highest-grossing installments in the franchise’s 54-year history.

“We love Daniel. We would love Daniel to return as Bond. Without any question he is absolutely Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli’s first choice,” Callum McDougall, executive producer on the last four “Bond” films, told the BBC late last month.
