ACS inspects paddy purchase in Ambala

Additional Chief Secretary, PWD (B&R), Hardeep Kumar today inspected the paddy procurement process at the grain markets here. He interacted with farmers and commission agents and inquired about the problems being faced by them.

The Additional Chief Secretary said earlier farmers faced problems related to moisture content in paddy, adding, the new directions issued by the state government in this regards had led to smooth procurement.

He said the moisture content was assessed between 15-17 per cent in majority of the paddy produce.

Farmers and commission agents apprised the Additional Chief Secretary about the poor drainage system, lack of drinking water and delay in installation of LED lights at the grain market.

Kumar directed the officials to resolve problems on priority basis.

He also asked officials of the Food Corporation of India and the Hafed to expedite the lifting process.
