Nepali youth arrested for possessing five firearms
Navi Mumbai: Chandrabahadur Bhimbahadur Sonar alias Kancha, from Nepal, was arrested on Sunday. The policemen found four country-made revolvers, one pistol and three live cartridges from his bag.
Acting on a tip off that a Nepali youth will be arriving at Panvel by an outstation train for selling illegal fire arms, a Panvel city police team laid a trap and apprehended Sonar with several fire arms.

Senior Inspector Sunil Bajare said, “Around 6 pm, the suspect carrying a back pack was spotted loitering suspiciously outside the Panvel Railway station. The cops kept a vigil on him for 15 minutes. When he started walking towards the auto stand, the cops waylaid and detained him.
Sonar (29), who claimed to be a resident of Gondhvani road in Ahmednagar, stated that he was going to Panvel ST bus stand to his relative’s house in Mumbai. The police is interrogating him and checking if he had any criminal record with Ahmednagar police.
