Patartek raid: House owner’s brother among 2 held
Law enforcers have arrested two persons including the brother of the owner of Patartek house in Gazipur where seven militants were killed during an anti-terror raid on Saturday.
The arrestees are Osman Gani, 59, brother of house owner Solaiman’s brother and the caretaker of the house, and Gani’s wife Salma Begum, 35, said Mominul Islam, inspector of special branch of Gazipur police
The arrest has been made a day after Khandakar Rejaul Hasan Reza, officer-in-charge of Joydebpur Police Station, filed a case accusing Osman and seven other unnamed people in connection with the Patartek incident.
The two have been arrested as they went into absconding soon after the anti-militancy raid at the house, reports our correspondent quoting the police official.
On Saturday, seven militants were killed at Noagaon Patartek in Harinal area under Gazipur City Corporation in a drive codenamed “Operation Spate 8”.
The deceased include Faridul Islam Akash, who allegedly had been trying to reorganise “Neo JMB” after the death of its coordinator Tamim Ahmed Chowdhury on August 27, officials say.
