Two members of Anil Dujana gang held for extortion bid
GREATER NOIDA: Two members of the Anil Dujana gang were arrested on Saturday for attempting to extort Rs 1 crore from a local businessman. The duo forcibly tried to occupy the victim’s 20-acre land by making temporary constructions on the site.
A team of the anti-extortion cell arrested the accused, identified as Suneel Kumar and Shailesh, when they were travelling in a Toyota Fortuner near Gautam Buddh University roundabout.

Abhishek Yadav, SP (rural) G B Nagar, said the accused are associated with the Anil Dujana gang. “We received complaints that the gang had been making extortion calls to a local businessman. The victim complained that some persons had called him and demanded Rs 1 crore. When he refused, they forcibly occupied his land and started constructing in that area,” Yadav said.
After receiving information about illegal and unauthorised constructions at the spot, a team of police officers rushed to the spot. However, the gang members fled from the spot when they received information about the arrival of police.
Yadav said the police team put the accused on surveillance and started tracking them. “We received information that the accused would be passing through Kasna in the evening. We deployed a police team who stopped the accused for checking, identified and arrested them,” he said. The vehicle was also seized.
Both the accused are residents of Dujana village in Greater Noida. Suneel said he was working on the directions of Anil Dujana, who is presently in Banda district jail for several criminal cases. “We worked in a five-member team. Three of their accomplices - Manoj Gurjar, Balbeer Gurjar, and Billu – were actually making extortion calls while Shalesh and I were supporting them,” Suneel said.
A case of extortion has been registered under section 386 of IPC at Eco-Tech 1 police station. “They will be produced in court and sent to jail on Monday,” Yadav said, adding that a search has been launched for the absconding criminals.
