Dandiya night on Punjabi beats: Gurgaonwallahs on Friday turned up at Kingdom of Dreams to let their hair down at a dandiya night and instead of missing the traditional garba songs, they gleefully grooved to Punjabi pop. Singer Indeep Bakshi, who was performing at the dandiya night for the first time, said, “The best moment during the performance was when I asked people if they want me to sing any Gujarati songs and they all refused and asked me to keep singing Punjabi tracks.” He added, “I was so motivated that I took two dandiya sticks and danced with the crowd.
Bhangra toh bahut kiya hai, aaj garba karke bhi dekh liya.”
Dance it out: Indeep sang popular songs like Saturday Saturday and Kala Chashma. He added variety to the do by singing songs like Ole Ole and Dholi Taaro Dhol Baaje. “I am enjoying so much that I regret reaching the venue almost an hour late,” said Shayana Khandelwal, who had come with her family members from Rohini.

‘Gurgaonwallahs know how to celebrate': Neha Nangia, a Gurgaon resident, said, “Gurgaon has a very cosmopolitan culture and people here want to enjoy the best of all cultures. People from different communities are doing the Gujarati garba on Punjabi tracks at this do and many would also go to attend cultural programmes at Durga Puja venues after this. Gurgaonwallahs know how to make the most of festivities.”
