The city Railway Police have registered a case and have ordered an inquiry.

BENGALURU: A family trip to Mysuru to watch Dasara turned tragic for a 52-year-old man and his family when a railway employee allegedly abused him and stabbed him in the hand with a pen at the City Railway Station around 6.30 am on Sunday.

The victim, V. Narayanswamy, a driver in the office of Inspector General of Registration and resident of Jeevan Bima Nagar, had gone to enquire about the departure of a train and the platform from which it was leaving when the railway staffer, identified as Subbaiah, misbehaved with him.

Narayanaswamy and his 10 family members had bought tickets to Mysuru and he approached the current reservation counter to check which platform the train was arriving and at what time. But Subbaiah misbehaved with Narayanaswamy and spoke to him rudely. When Narayanaswamy asked him not to be rude, an angry Subbaiah allegedly pulled Narayan’s left arm into the counter and stabbed him in the hand with the pen, leaving him bleeding. He was rushed to KC General Hospital for treatment.

He later approached the railway police and filed an assault complaint against Subbaiah. The city Railway Police have registered a case and have ordered an inquiry.
