Dadri SDM, 8 others booked for culpable homicide

Charkhi Dadri SDM Bijender Hooda and his team have been booked for culpable homicide after villagers accused them of beating a truck driver to death.

The SDM and his staff yesterday laid barricades to issue challans to overloaded vehicles. Leelu Ram, truck driver, jumped the barricade in an attempt to flee the spot, leaving behind his vehicle. He was reportedly chased by the SDM and his staff.

Sources said Leelu Ram was caught by the SDM and his staff, who brutally beat him up and refused to take him to hospital after the incident.

The angry villagers and the deceased’s family members blocked the Loharu road last night and demanded that the SDM be booked for murder. However, the police booked Hooda and nine of his associates for culpable homicide.
