Belgaum One cashier robbed of Rs 3.80 lakh

A group of three robbers, faces covered with masks, attacked a cashier of Belgaum One centre of the government at a TV Centre area here with sharp weapons, and robbed him Rs 3.80 lakh. The incident took place on Saturday late night.

BELAGAVI: A group of three robbers, faces covered with masks, attacked a cashier of Belgaum One centre of the government at a TV Centre area here with sharp weapons, and robbed him Rs 3.80 lakh. The incident took place on Saturday late night.
Usually, cashier Nanjundeshwar Kadappa Chalawadi (34), resident of Shrinagar area, closes the centre at 7pm. Due to heavy work, he was in office even after usual closing time.
At around, 7.45pm, three robbers of 25-30 age group entered the centre holding pistol and a sharp koyta in hand and asked cashier Nanjudeshwar to show the cash.
When he denied, the accused assaulted him while one of them hit on his leg by koyta. Fearing for his life, the cashier handed over keys of lockers to them. They searched lockers and took money. They even did not spare Rs 7,000 cash in the pocket of cashier before they made away.
When a local person entered the centre, he saw the cashier tied with table and cloth in his mouth. The case has been registered in APMC police station.
