STF, Kolkata nabbed 'most-wanted' gun-runners from Kerala

They were identified to be Abu Bakkar Siddiqui alias Nur Shah and Siyhauddin alias Horish. Police retrieved two pistols and three rounds cartridges which they confessed to have procured from Murshidabad.
The arrest and recovery led special task force (STF) officials to swing into action.
Along with intelligence bureau officials, STF investigators carried out a marathon interrogation to check out any terror link with the detainees. Interrogation revealed that after buying the pistols, they had a plan to catch a train to Kerala. Since they had some time in hands, they ventured out of the Howrah station to buy a few more things from Burrabazar.
STF, Kolkata police got in touch with Kerala Police and got confirmed that both were most wanted criminals, thought to have fled to Dubai. Both were accused in gun-running business. They have smuggled guns to D-company members in Dubai after acquiring them from across the world. A team from Kerala police will come shortly to city police headquarters at Lalbazar to take them in remand.
Kolkata police were particularly concerned about the clandestine market of sophisticated fire arms in Murshidabad. Already a STF team has left for Murshidabad to investigate into it. STF has information that the illegal arms manufacturing hub has shifted from Bihar to Bengal. A recent unearthing of of a number manufacturing hub of sophisticated 9 mm and 7 mm pistols at Budge Budge in Bengal, run by outsiders mainly men from Munger were cases in point.
