IMPHAL: Deputy chief minister Gaikhangam has said senior leader Biren Singh's resignation will have no impact on Congress.
Senior politican N Biren Singh, who quit the ruling Congress recently, is certain of joining BJP. The formal announcement is likely to come in New Delhi soon. BJP leader and Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said Biren will join the party on October 15. Biren did not rule out Sarma's statement.
"BJP has agreed to incorporate two agendas I proposed, including geographical need-based development in the party's vision document," Biren told TOI on Saturday.

Senior Congress leader and state forest and environment minister Irengbam Hemochandra echoed Gaikhangham's sentiment. He did, however, acknowledge Biren's role in the development of the state. With four Trinamool Congress MLAs joining Congress, senior minister Hemochandra was confident that more will follow suit soon.
