Melo goes to store in robe 'all the time'
You may remember that back in August, Carmelo Anthony's wife, La La, caught her husband walking to a bodega in a bath robe and Olympics hat. She put it on Snapchat for the world to see.
"Who do you know goes to the corner store with a robe on?" she asked him.
In an interview with Complex Sports' Maurice Peebles, Carmelo answered questions about his late-night trips to the corner store. Now, we have answers.
Carmelo told Peebles why he was out that night La La blasted him on her Snap:
"It was just - I had a sweet tooth that night. I felt like getting out the house and walking to the store. I didn't know I was gonna have the crowd of my wife and everybody with me."
Carmelo added, "I do it all the time; just so happens she made it hot. She put it on the Snap."
This means that anyone who lives around Carmelo has probably seen him walking around at night. I guess his neighbors are just respectful enough not to post photos of the Knicks star when he's in his robe. Or, he takes a route that's typically deserted. He told Peebles that he walks the same way every trip.
"Yeah, I mean, I was just going right across the street to the store to get something and come back. I go there all the time the same way. In a robe, in some sneakers, in a hat, and I hurry up and come back. I feel comfortable in those situations."
Good to know. Carmelo is just like us. He'll run out real quick in a robe with no shame.
