Talk series on career options

The International Centre Goa (ICG), in association with Madame Rosa Distillery, is organizing a series of career talks to enlighten Goan youth of the numerous career options available for them. The series intends to highlight different career paths.

PANAJI: The International Centre Goa (ICG), in association with Madame Rosa Distillery, is organizing a series of career talks to enlighten Goan youth of the numerous career options available for them. The series intends to highlight different career paths.
Usha Albuquerque, a former news anchor, career consultant and author of several books on careers, highlighted on the data and trends amongst the youth in Goa, as well as the career opportunities both locally and globally.
With the circumstances and opportunities in present Goa, Albuquerque opined that there was a serious need for the youth of Goa to look outside the traditional career paths and consider other vocational avenues.
There is a need for Goan youth to look beyond the beaten track of hospitality, shipping, tourism, medicine, engineering and IT, or for that matter going to the Middle East, Europe or on board a cruise liner. It is time for Goan youth to consider different career paths such as civil services, armed forces, etc.
The talk will be held on October 9 at the International Centre Goa, Dona Paula, from 10.30am onwards. The event is open to students from Class X and above, civil service aspirants, parents and academicians, who would like to know more about career options in the civil services.
