Thane: The redrawn boundaries of wards, part - I published in TOI October 8 edition, announced on Friday hasn’t made much of a difference for many corporators including Mayor Sanjay More, opposition leader Sanjay Bhoir and even standing committee chairman Sanjay Waghule who would continue to retain their strongholds.
Shiv Sena strongman Naresh Mhaske who represents the Kashish Park, Anand Nagar area is likely to get a second chance as his ward has an open category seat while NCP’s Najib Mulla and Suhas Desai who represent the Rabodi ward can expect an encore as the ward has two general category seats.

While few seats have been secured, there are others where it could be some loss. For example, in the case of Kalwa where the existing six seats presently by the NCP are likely to be crunched into four as few adjoining areas along Manisha Nagar has been merged in Kharegaon. Whereas in the Kajuwadi seat that is presently dominated by ex-mayor Ashok Vaity, a part of it gets overlaps with the adjoining seat of Sena leader Santosh Wadavle.
