Dubai: Vihaan Sharma continued his recent run of form and produced another winning performance to claim his second victory in as many months at the October edition of the Dubai Duty Free Junior Medal Championship at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club.

Sharma finished strongly to beat Shreyas Bawkar on a countback after the pair had both finished off with identical scores of 32.

Bawkar, however, was crowned the boy’s division winner and Toby Bishop claimed the runners-up spot with a score of 40.5. Jacob Fisas earned his place after taking the Best Gross prize following a 4-over par 39. UAE National Junior, Reema Al Heloo was victorious in the girls division after a superb performance and a score of 38.

The Non-Member division made up of juniors who are UAE Nationals and part of the Junior Development Programme at the Dubai Creek or juniors without an official EGF handicap, was won by Liam Mullen with a score of 32.5. The nearest the pin prizes were won by Rashid Al Qubaisi and Bawkar following their tee shots on the fifth and eighth holes.

This competition is a nine-hole strokeplay series that has been well received by juniors from the UAE since its introduction a couple of years back.
