Police seize 12 kg Ganja from petty shop, elderly woman held

Madurai, Tamil Nadu Oct 8 (UNI) Police arrested an elderly woman for selling Ganja in her petty shop at Vandiyur locality, here today.
Acting on a tip off that Ganja sachets were being sold in the petty shop run by K.Bhagyalakshmi (58), a police team raided the shop and seized the narcotic substance weighing 12 kilograms. The cops also seized Rs 17,000 cash from the shop.
Inquiries revealed that Bhagyalakshmi and her son K.Suresh (36) used to procure Ganja from narcotic peddlers and sell it to local drug addicts. Anna Nagar police have registered a case and are searching Suresh, who is absconding.
