6-year-old raped in Kherki Daula

GURGAON: Two persons were arrested for allegedly raping a 6-year-old girl in Kherki Daula village on Thursday. The accused were booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and sent to judicial custody.
The duo, Suresh Negi (27) and Rajesh Sharma (26), had gone to meet the girl’s sister at Kherki Daula. According to police, she was playing outside her house when Sharma lured her by offering sweets.The duo then took her to a secluded place and sexually assaulted her.
The six-year-old managed to reach her house and told her parents about the assault on her. The parents went to the cops and lodged a complaint at the Kherki Daula police station. A medical examination of the girl confirmed she had been raped.
The accused were arrested from their relative’s residence and, during questioning, confessed the crime. “Today, we produced the duo in the city court, which sent them to judicial custody,” said the investigating officer, Suman.
