THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The spot admissions to the vacant MBBS and BDS seats in self-financing medical and dental colleges in the state took place amid protests and chaos at the medical college here on Friday.
The admissions that began at 9am did not conclude till late night. "There is time till 11.59pm to complete the admission process," said officials at the office of the commissioner of entrance examinations.

The day saw arguments and laments by medical admission aspirants and their parents with the management representatives over the demand for a minimum Rs 40 lakh bank guarantee over and above the higher fees for management and NRI seats.
Admissions were conducted for seats in KMCT, Kannur; Karuna Medical College; Believers' Church College, Malabar; and Pariyaram Medical College.
