Friend stabs friend to death over petty issue

AHMEDABAD: Shehzad Pathan, 22 was brutally stabbed to death by his own friend Shahid Ansari at Nawabnagar in Shah-e-alam on Thursday night. A murder case was registered at Isanpur police station. Cops have arrested accused Ansari. According to Isanpur police sources Pathan and Ansari who were close friends were standing near an embroidery unit on Thursday night. “The owner of embroidery unit Mohsin Shaikh was shifting to new premises.At that time Ansari commented that the unit has closed down. Pathan replied saying “How can the unit survive where thugs like you live” said a police source.
Police sources said situation got aggravated as the two started fighting. “Shaikh intervened and separated the two” added a police official of Isanpur. However, Ansari who went home after being separated by Shaikh again came back with a knife and stabbed Pathan multiple times killing him on the spot. Isanpur police rushed to the spot on getting the information about the incident but by then Ansari had fled. “We formed several teams and nabbed Ansari from near Millatnagar in Shah-e-alam late in the night” added a police official.
