NRK’s moving text also "revealed" that Moniz and Salehi had been awarded the prize for the nuclear agreement, according to which Iran is poised to reduce its nuclear program.
Viewers assumed it was an accidental disclosure of the laureates, but NRK vehemently denied this.
"It was nothing but a mistake. What happened is that we were preparing ourselves for the announcement by making up some final lines on the basis of different possible winners. By mistake, one of them was released for a few seconds. This was neither guesswork nor disclosure. It simply was a mistake," Stein Bjøntegård, a publishing editor at NRK, told Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang.
