It was an exciting time for the 80 hairstylists who were selected for the zonal round of TIGI presents Femina Salon & Spa Hair Heroes 2016.
TIGI presents Femina Salon & Spa Hair Heroes 2016 has been created to recognise the best hair talent across the country. It is a property designed to celebrate the creativity and versatility of hairstylists. And in order to find the best hairstylist who will have the opportunity to train with some of the best in the field, we invited hairstylists to send in looks they had created based on eight different categories spread across cut, colour and styling. From Street Style (a translation of their street style inspiration into a modern do) to the Runway Reborn look (a stylish, ramp-worthy hairstyle), hairstylists could choose any of the eight categories to showcase their creativity. Serious Glamour needed the creation of a modern style inspired by Bollywood; Ultimate Upstyles demanded a sophisticated and modern updo. Colour Me Up, which saw a plethora of hairstylists send in entries of rainbow-hued hair, was about the display of the most creative colouring technique. The best modern cut and style on a male model was required for Retrosexual Men, and the best cut and styling techniques for Cut & Style (Long Hair) and Cut & Style (Short Hair).
We asked for creativity, and we got it in spades for the TIGI presents Femina Salon & Spa Hair Heroes 2016! Entries poured in from all corners of the country, and narrowing down the lot was a challenging task. Representatives from TIGI and Femina Salon & Spa painstakingly scrutinised all entries to zoom in on the 80 that displayed that extra spark, as well as met the criteria set for each look.
Post this training, the 80 contestants will each send in a look they create based on knowledge and skills imbibed from the training. Then the Femina Salon and Spa editorial team along with a jury panel comprising industry experts will further narrow down the selection to three semi-finalists for each of the eight categories. 24 semi-finalists will be called to Mumbai to be part of a spectacular awards ceremony, which will be attended by experts from the beauty industry, professionals and celebrities.
24 semi-finalists will showcase their looks on the ramp. There are big prizes to be won at the TIGI presents Femina Salon & Spa Hair Heroes 2016! One person will be selected from each of the categories. Seven winners will head to Goa for a three-day course with a TIGI trainer. The Rising Star winner will get a seven-day/six-night all-expense-paid trip to the London TIGI Academy for a five-day training programme with acclaimed international trainers, and will also get featured in Femina Salon and Spa.
