Gurgaon, October 6

Wrestling event by the Great Khali’s Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE) scheduled on October 8 at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurgaon has been cancelled owing to some security reasons.

Earlier, visa issues of international wrestlers and unsatisfactory sale of tickets were being cited as the reasons for the cancellation of the event, but then it was attributed to the state government’s advisory to the organisers.

The event was planned by the CWE and the state government. The government had decided to waive entertainment tax for the event to promote sports.

About 14 male and female wrestlers from USA, Canada, South Africa and Mexico were expected to participate in the event. However, the Panipat event on October 12 will go as per the schedule.
