Air Marshal C K Ranjan is new AFMC Commandant

Air Marshal C K Ranjan, AVSM, VSM is a graduate of AFMC Pune. He was commissioned into the Indian Air Force in 1980.

AIR MARSHAL C K Ranjan has been appointed Director and Commandant of Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, which is his alma mater. He is replacing Lt Gen A K Nagpal, who retired on 30 September 2016.

Air Marshal C K Ranjan, AVSM, VSM is a graduate of AFMC Pune. He was commissioned into the Indian Air Force in 1980. He has an MD and DNB in Aviation Medicine and is a graduate from Defence Services Staff College, Wellington. He has also been awarded an MSc in Defence Studies and MPhil in Hospital and Health System Management.

During his career, he has held various appointments, including professor and Head of Department of Aerospace Medicine at Institute of Aerospace Medicine, Bangalore; Commandant, Air Force Central Medical Establishment, New Delhi; Commandant, Command Hospital Air Force, Bangalore, and Additional DGAFMS.

He held the appointment of Principal Medical Officer, Headquarters, Training Command, Indian Air Force prior to assuming his present appointment. He has been awarded Ati Vishist Seva Medal in 2015, Vishist Seva Medal in 2008 and AOC in C Commendation Card in 1992 for meritorious service.
