2011 double murder: 3 members of Ravi Pujari gang convicted

The Special MCOCA court today convicted three Ravi Pujari gang members for killing two employees of Sahana Builders in Mumbai in 2011.
In March 2011, two gunmen barged into a construction site in Andheri and fired indiscriminately killing site supervisor Yogesh Khule and site engineer Samrat Devarsi on the spot.
The court convicted Raju Jadhav, Yogesh Waghmare and Riyaz Shaikh, but acquitted two others Mohsin Khan and Khajappa Nagore
While dictating the order, the MCOCA court judge Shrikant Anekar cleared that "imprisonment for life imposed on the convicts will run until their lives." The total fine of Rs 15,00,000 rupees if recovered will be equally distributed between the legal heirs of deceased Devarsia and Khule.
WHAT HAPPENED
The prosecutions case had been that gangster Ravi Pujari had orchestrated the attack after builder Sudhakar Shetty refused to give in to his extortion demands. Police had managed to arrest five men in the case. While Waghmare and Jadhav were the shooters, Shaikh did a reccee of the place. Khan allegedly ferried them to the construction site.
However the other two accused who had been arrested by police were acquitted for lack of evidence. The acquitted persons will have to execute a personal bond of rupees 25,000. However all the evidence that had been collected during investigation is not disposed off for wanted accused Ravi Pujari, as case against him will be taken up on his arrest
