Terror threat: entry to 22 uninhabited islands prohibited

Dwarka: Amid the terror threat perception post the surgical strike by the Indian army in PoK and heightened security along Gujarat coast, the Devbhoomi Dwarka district administration has prohibited entry of anybody on the 22 uninhabited islands off the district coast without proper police permission.
District Collector H K Patel has issued a notification under the section 144 of the CRPC prohibiting the entry of anybody on the 22 uninhabited islands spread off the coast in three talukas Khambhaliya, Kalyanpur and Okha Mandal.
‘There are a total of 24 islands (bet) under the district administration of which only two bet Dwarka and Ajar are inhabited.
The step has been taken to foil any attempt by anti national elements to misuse such secluded places for nefarious designs.
Meanwhile the Police has also heightened the security in and around world famous Jagat temple in the Dwarka.
The SRP jawans in the security of the temple have been provided with bullet proof jackets and the number of security personnel has also been increased.
