Youth throws Pune girl off cliff in Mandu

Indore: A Pune-based girl was critically injured after she was thrown off a cliff at tourist spot Mandu in Dhar district on Wednesday by a youth who had summoned her on pretext of getting her a job. Meena Khandagle, 20, a resident of Viman Nagar in Pune, was found in unconscious condition at the base of the cliff in Tarapur Ghat in the afternoon, Mandu police told TOI. The victim was rushed to the Dhar hospital and was being treated by doctors.Meena told the investigating officer that one Shahid Khatri, a resident of Indore, had promised her a job and summoned her from Pune. She arrived in Indore on Tuesday.
Shahid brought her to Mandu on his vehicle for sightseeing. At around 11.30 am, he hit her with a stone and she fell unconscious. She was later found at the base of the cliff.
Police have registered a case against Shahid and attempts were on to trace him.
