Recruitment of temporary employees of Wakf Board scam exposed, file missing

Hyderabad: A major scam of recruitment of temporary employees came to limelight recently. Higher officials started investigation but they are facing difficulties since the file pertaining to recruitment temporary staff is missing.

It is stated that 40 temporary staff is recruited. The middleman received Rs. 2 lakh from the candidates. It is reported that some journalists are also involved in it.

The investigating officials are facing pressure from various corners not to proceed with investigation whereas CEO has decided to refer the matter to Govt. for ordering probe. It is understood that majority of the newly recruited person are from the same district.

The other file in which a decision was taken to make three temporary employees permanent is also missing. It is said that Rs. 1.60 lakh was collected from each of the three employees with promise to get the benefit of PRC for them. This matter was referred to police in 2014. Police has started investigation but suddenly this case was shelved in cold storage.

CEO of Wakf Board lodged a complaint in Nampally Police Station and sought the details about the case. It is reported that the matter of taking bribe from three employees occurred when Wakf Board was functioning. Its file is in police station. The report which was submitted by CEO of Wakf Board after investigations was found to miss some of its pages.

Higher officials of Wakf Board are in favour of thorough investigations of both these cases. It is reported that the files were missing on account of the patronage of higher political leaders. Those who had paid Rs. 2 lakh each for their selection are ready to give their statements.

CEO of Wakf Board is serious about exposing these scams. These matters would be referred to Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare who is also competent authority for Wakf Board for taking up investigations.
